Erdal Clouds Yarn

3.3 stsitches X 5 rows per inch

size 10 needles ( check for proper gauge)

Size SMALL  ( Medium and Large below )

Sweater - 100 g balls –   S = 4,  M = 4,  L = 5

Scarf and hat together – 100g balls - 2

Sweater – SMALL  - 19”wide X  20”long

Back

Cast on 64 stitches ( with smaller needle )

Work in 1 X 1 rib for 2.5  inches

With larger needle, work in stockinette stitch for 9.5 inches ( total 12 inches )

Place marker on each side for sleeves

Knit stockinette for 8 inches more ( total of 20 inches )

Bind off 20 shoulder stitches, 24 neck stitches, and 20 shoulder stitches

Front

Same as back to armhole markers

Knit 5 inches in stockinette stitch

Bind off 14 center stitches for neck opening

Knit right side of front decreasing 1 stitch ( neck side ) every other row 5 times

Knit 4 more rows.  Bind off

Do same for left side

Join 1 back and 1 front shoulder .  Seam together

Collar  ( with smaller needle )

Pick up 24 back stitches, 15 from side of front , 14 from center front, 15 from other side of front ( 68 total )

Knit 6 inches in 1 X 1 rib

Bind off loosely

Join second shoulder together

Sew collar seam

Sleeves

Cast on 34 stitches ( with smaller needle )

Knit 2 inches in 1 X 1 rib

With larger needle, knit stockinette stitch for 17 inches ( total of 19 inches )  Increasing 13 times evenly  ( 1 stitch each side )through the sleeve

You will have 60 stitches

Bind off at 19 inches

Match center of sleeve to shoulder seam and pin together

Sew sleeve in place

Sew sleeve and body seams

Weave in and trim all ends

MEDIUM   ---  20 “ wide  X 21 “ long

Cast on 68 stitches

Front and Back – 13” to sleeve marker

Finish same as small  ( only you will have 22 shoulder stitches, 24 neck stitches, 22 shoulder stitches )

LARGE   ---  21” wide X 22” long

Cast on 72 stitches

Front and back – 14” to sleeve marker

Finish same as small  ( only you will have 24 shoulder stitches, 24 neck stitches and 24 shoulder stitches )

Erdal Clouds Hat and Scarf  ( hat and scarf can be made with 2 balls total )

Hat

Cast on 70 stitches ( smaller needle )

Knit 4 inches in 1 X 1 rib

Larger needle -  knit stockinette stitch for 5 inches ( 9 inches total )

Decrease every other stitch  ( knit 2 stitches together all the way across ) ending with 35 stitches

Using smaller needle, knit 1 inch more

Leaving a long string, run yarn through stitches so you can pull the top together tightly

Use yarn to sew hat seam

Weave in and trim ends

Size Small – ( M and L below )

4 – 100g balls  (  S and M   ;   5 balls L )

Sweater   --   SMALL  ( 19” wide  20” long )

Back

E wrap 63 stitches on main bed  -  Hang comb and 1 large ribber weight

Knit 1 row right to left 

Row 1 – transfer to ribber  for 1X1 rib  ( I use tension 3 on a Brother Bulky machine )

Row 12 – transfer to mainbed  -  sweater tension  ( I used tension 10 )

Row 56 mark for sleeves

Row 98 – take off on waste yarn – ( 20 shoulder stitches, 23 neck stitches, 20 shoulder

stitches )

Front

Knit same as back to row 84

Take off center 13 stitches on waste yarn

Decrease right side -  1 stitch neck side on rows 86, 88, 90, 92, 94

Knit to row 98 – take off on waste yarn

Do the same for left side

Hang 1 front and 1 back shoulder together.  Bind off.

Collar

Pick up 23 back stitches, 15 from 1 side of front, 13 from center front and 15 from the other side of the front  ( 66 total )

Knit 1 row

Transfer to ribber for 1 X 1 rib   Hang comb and 1 large ribber weight

Rib 28 rows tension 4

Rib 1 row tension 10

Bind off

Hang remaining shoulders together.  Bind off.

Sleeves

Ewrap 33 stitches on mainbed  ( 16 – 17 )

Knit 1 row right to left

Transfer to ribber for 1 X 1 rib

Row  12 transfer to mainbed

Pick up 1 stitch on left side to make an even number of stitches ( 17 each side of 0 )

Increase 1 stitch per side on rows 16, 20, 24, 30, 36 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84   ( 60 sts total )

Row 90 – take off on waste yarn or garter bar.

Hang sweater right side facing you on machine ( 60 needles )

Hang sleeve on machine.  Bind together.

Do same for other sleeve

Sew turtleneck, side seams and sleeve seams

Weave in all loose ends and trim

Size Medium  ( 20” wide  X  21” long )

Back – cast on 67 sts    Knit as above pattern to row 62

Row 62  - Mark for sleeve

Row 104 take off on waste yarn ( 22 shoulder sts,  23 neck sts, 22 shoulder sts )

Front – same as back to neck opening

Row 90 – put center 13 sts on waste yarn

Decrease right side - 1 stitch neck side on rows : 92,94,96,98,100

Knit to row 104 – take off on waste yarn

Do the same for left side of front

Sleeves – same as above

Size Large  ( 21” wide  X  22” long )

Back – cast on 71 sts   Knit as above pattern to row 66

Row 66 – mark for sleeve

Row 110  - take off on waste yarn ( 24 shoulder sts, 23 neck sts, 24 shoulder sts )

Front  - same as back to neck opening

Row 96 – put center 13 sts on waste yarn

Decrease right side – 1 stitch neck side on rows : 98, 100, 102, 104, 106

Knit to row 110 – take off on wasteyarn

Do same for left side of front

Sleeves – same as above

ERDAL CLOUDS HAT     --    Hat and scarf can be made with 2 balls total

Ewrap 71 stitches on main bed

Hang comb and 1 large ribber weight

Knit 1 row right to left tension 5

Row 1 – transfer to ribber for 1 X 1 rib  Tension 3

Row 20 – transfer to main bed.  Tension 10

Row 46 – decrease to every other needle  Tension 5

Row 52 – take off with double eye needle leaving long string to sew seam

Gather together and sew seam

Weave in loose ends and trim

Fold rib in half to make hat hem

ERDAL CLOUDS SCARF       5” X 72” ( without fringe )

Ewrap 31 stitches on main bed

Hang comb and 1 large ribber weight

Knit 1 row right to left  Tension 5

Row 1 – transfer stitches to ribber for 1 X 1 rib  Tension  4

Row 300 – open tension to 10

Row 301 – bind off

Cut several lengths of yarn for fringe. ( any length you like .  I used 9 strands  10” long for each end.)

Hang fringe --  trim evenly
