Erdal Lazer  color # 519  -  two  100g  balls

3.5 sts /  5 rows per inch   ( check for proper gauge )

Erdal Shaggy  color # 588   - one 50g ball

SHRUG

Medium   20” wide  X  11” long

Back ( Lazer Yarn )

Cast on 70 sts

Work in stockinette stitch for 2”

Place markers for sleeves

Continue for 7” more ( total 9” )

Cast off center 28 sts ( 21 remain on each side )

Working 1 side  :  Continue for 1” more decreasing 1 stitch on neck side 2 times

Cast off 19 shoulder sts

Do the same for the other side

Fronts ( make 2 mirrored )

Cast on 22 sts

On center edge, increase 1 st 3 times evenly in the first inch to make a curved edge (25 sts )

At 2” mark outside edge for sleeve

Knit in stockinette for 4” more ( 6” total )

At neck edge, bind off 2 sts ( 23 remain )

Decrease  1 stitch 4 times evenly in the next 2” ( 19 sts remain )

Continue until piece measures 10”

Cast off 19 shoulder sts

Join back and front shoulders together

Sleeves

Shaggy Yarn – Cast on 30 sts

Knit in stockinette for 1”

Lazer Yarn  -  continue for 17” more increasing evenly through the sleeve 14 times

( 58 sts top of sleeve )

Cast off sleeve sts

Match center of sleeve to shoulder seam .    Pin together and sew.

Sew sleeve and body seams

Shaggy Trim around body

Knit in stockinette stitch 1” all around bottom of back , up front side, across back neck, down the other front side.

Pick up on back edge 62 sts, 40 sts up to front bind off, 15 sts for neck curve, 4 sts on back neck slant, 24 sts on back neck, 4 sts on slant, 15 sts neck curve, and 40 down other front edge

Weave in and trim all ends

Back ( Lazer Yarn )  Tension 9 Brother bulky machine

Row 0 - Crochet cast on 70 sts

Hang comb and  3 claw weights

Row 12 – mark sides for sleeves

Row 44 – Put center 28 sts on waste yarn

Put left side on hold

Row 45  +  47 decrease I stitch at neck edge

Row 48 – put 19 shoulder sts on waste yarn

Do same for left side

Fronts ( make 2 mirrored )

Row 0 – crochet cast on 22 sts

Increase 1 stitch on center edge to make small curve on rows 2, 4, and 6 ( 25 sts total)

Row 12 – mark outside edge for sleeve

Row  31 – bind off 2 sts on neck edge

Decrease I stitch for neck curve on rows : 32, 34, 36, and 38  ( 19 sts remain )

Row 48 – put on waste yarn

Join front and back shoulders together

Sleeves  (Lazer Yarn)

Hang shrug on 58 sts between sleeve markers

Decrease 1 stitch per side on rows : 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 64, 68, 72, 76

30 stitches remain

Row 80 change to Shaggy Yarn

Row 84 – bind off sleeve

Sew sleeve and side seams

To make the Shaggy trim, you will have to do this in sections

Hang on machine bottom edge of the back decreasing the 70 sts to 62 ( spacing the 8 sts evenly across back )

Pick up 16 sts from each bottom edge of front (total 94 sts )

Knit 4 rows Shaggy.  Bind off.

For the remainder of the trim –

Hang on machine decreasing the back neck sts from 28 to 22 ( double up 6 evenly across the back )

Pick up 3 on each back neck curve ( 28 total )

Pick up 15 on each front neck curve  ( 58  total )

Pick up 21 down the front edge ( 100 total )

Pick up 3 on the front bottom curve ( 106 total )

Knit 4 rows Shaggy.   Bind off. 

Sew seams on Shaggy together.

Weave in all ends and trim.
