DEEP SLOPED VEST

This chic textured vest has a wide, deep sloped neck that will show off a pretty shirt or blouse as it fits the waistline and drapes over the hips.
Materials: Erdal Yarns, Ltd. “Magic” verigated color Otter – 10 skeins
106 yds/50 gr
Size G Crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Gauge: 4 sts = 1 inch/4 rows = 1 inch
Size: Small, Medium, Large
Pattern stitch: sc in next st, hdc in next st
Beg: Loosely ch 145 (155, 165) join to beg chain being careful not to twist. Work in rounds.
Rnd 1: SC in second st from hook and in each ch around. Do not join.
Rnds 2-5: SC in each st around.
Work in pattern until piece measures 7 inches from beg.
Next Row: Dec 1 st at beg of rnd and in the 72nd (82nd, 92nd) st for waist indention. (142, 152, 162 sts)
Next row: Dec 1 st at beg of rnd and in the 70th ( 80th, 90th) st. (140, 150, 160 sts)
Next 5 rows: Work in pattern.
Next Row: Inc 1 st at beg of rnd and in the 70th (80th, 90th) st from beg. (142, 152, 163 sts)
Next row: Inc 1 st at beg of rnd and in the 71st (81st, 91st) st from beg. (144, 154, 164 sts)
Work in pattern until the piece measures 12 inches from beg. Fasten off.
Divide for V neck (front).
Attach yarn in the 37th (47th, 57th) st and work in pattern around to within 1 st of beg sc. Ch 1, turn.
Next row: Dec 1 st each side of V every other row (3 times) (124, 134, 144 sts) while working in pattern, then dec 1 st every 4th row (2 times, 4 times, 6 times).
Work even in pattern until piece measures 16 inches. Fasten Off.
Left Front Armhole
Attach yarn in 25th (35th, 45th) st from V edge, work in pattern while dec 1 st every 4th row (5 times) at armhole edge or until there are 20 sts remaining.
Work in pattern until armhole measures 8 (9, 10) inches. SL st loosely at shoulder across 20 sts.
Fasten off.
Right Front Amhole
Rep as for left front armhole. Pattern is reversible.
Back
Attach yarn in 2nd st from beg st on right front. Work in pattern to within 1 st of the beg st at left front armhole (65, 75, 85 sts). Ch 1, turn.
While working in pattern, dec 1 st every 4th row (3 times) (59, 69. 79 sts). Work even in pattern until back armhole measures 8 (9, 10) inches. Fasten off.
Back neck and shoulders
Work in pattern over the next 20 sts, ch 1, turn. Rep 2 times. Sl st loosely in each st across shoulder. Fasten off.
Attach yarn in opposite armhole edge of back and rep as shoulder just worked.
Assembly
With wrong sides together, using tapestry needle, insert needle in both loops of sl st of each shoulder, sew together. Fasten off. Rep for other shoulder.
Edge trim
Attach yarn at underarm st. sc loosely around armhole.
Next row: SC in each st around, sl st to join. Fasten off. Rep for other armhole.
Attach yarn at back neck and shoulder seam and sc loosely around V and back neck.
