Erdal Shaggy Scarf with Shaggy and Lazer Hat

Hand knit pattern

Central Maine Knits

To make both items, you will need :

Erdal Shaggy  (color #588)  four 50g balls

Erdal Lazer  (color #519)  one 100g ball

Scarf – Shaggy Yarn

Cast on 24 stitches

Knit in 2 X 2 rib for 64 inches

Cast off

Cut 32 strands 10 inches long for fringe

Space evenly 8 fringes across each end using 2 strands per fringe

Hat --  Shaggy and Lazer yarn

Cast on 12 stitches Shaggy Yarn

Knit in 2 X 2 rib for 18 inches.

Cast off.

Pick up 70 stitches along the edge.  With the Lazer yarn, knit in stockinette stitch for 5.5 inches

Decrease every other stitch ending up with 35 stitches

Knit 1 inch more

With long end, run yarn through remaining stitches.  Pull tightly. Sew side seam.

Weave in and trim all ends

Machine Knit Pattern

To make both items you will need :

Erdal Shaggy ( color # 588 )  four 50g balls

Erdal Lazer ( color # 519 ) one 100g ball

Scarf  - Shaggy Yarn

Cast on 24 stitches

2 X 2 rib for 64 inches

( I used tension 7 for 250 rows )

Bind off

Cut 32 strands 10” long for fringe

Space evenly 8 fringes across each end using 2 strands per fringe

Hat  -  Shaggy and Lazer Yarn

Cast on 12 stitches Shaggy Yarn

2 X 2 rib for 18 inches

( tension 7 for 70 rows )

Bind off

Hang side of band on 70 needles

With Lazer yarn, knit 30 rows tension 7

Decrease EON

Knit 4 rows tension 4

Take off with double eye needle leaving enough yarn to sew side seam

Weave in ends and trim
